How it all Began
Both from Memphis, TN, Emma and Spencer originally met each other through the all-girls and all-boys schools in Memphis they attended: St. Mary's Episcopal School and Presbyterian Day School, and later, Memphis University School. For Emma and Spencer, that Memphis grade-school introduction came in the form of a neighborhood get-together when they were about ten years old at the old Farris house on Blue Heron Cove. After that, Emma and Spencer lost touch. Emma was focused on friends, soccer, and school, while Spencer was focused on becoming an All-American and D1 college athlete. Spencer went on to play college tennis at the University of Alabama and the University of Dayton, while Emma went on to study international affairs in Washington, DC. After graduating from college, Emma moved to Costa Rica to pursue her career. It was during one trip home from Costa Rica in the fall of 2022 that Emma and Spencer reconnected through a good friend of theirs in Memphis. Following that fateful night, Spencer called Emma every day for about six months. When Emma came home for Christmas that year, it was settled...They liked each other. A lot. Emma and Spencer kept in touch, talking every day for countless days and nights. Then, after Spencer visited Emma in Costa Rica, Spencer and Emma decided to commit to a relationship together. Three years later, Emma and Spencer are still together and have recently moved to Austin, TX, where Spencer is the Southwestern University Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach and Emma is a lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP. Emma and Spencer cannot wait to get married to each other and start their lives together! They are best friends and love spending time together, even if it is just watching a show, playing a board game, or throwing the baseball in the front yard. Emma and Spencer look forward to welcoming you all to Memphis, their hometown and the town where they met. Come on down, y'all!
